Coming from the underground music scene in ST.LOUIS is Rapper "Y-GEE" He's the next in line to make his city be recognized like his past hit makers Nelly,Chingy,J-Kwon,Jibbs and Huey. Born Robert Hunter "Y-GEE" was born on the South Side in the notorious area of 3rd District(3100 Oregon blk). Growing up it was hard times and all you could think about was hustling in the streets to make ends meet and it lead to rapping. He sold his cd's in mom and pop stores and he has been linked to OVERTYME Entertainment Where he's sold 8 to 10,000 with no promotions or video in the streets. On top of all these things, he's been a poster boy for REEBOKS A.T.R sneakers while in college at ROXBURY OF BOSTON,MA where he attended for 2 1/2 years playing college basketball, he recieved ALL AMERICAN accolades and ALL REGIONAL FIRST TEAM AWARDS."Overall I would like to serve as a positive role model for younger kids, as well as my nieces and nephews", said Y-GEE." His influences in rap are 2-pac, Big-L, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Spice 1 and Common. "Ultimately, I see the Industry as an open door to success, and a net that keeps me from falling through the cracks of poverty, states Y-GEE. His stage presence is immaculate as he commands the crowd..s attention and engages them with his every word. Earlier performances at venues throughout St. Louis, still garner the respect and admiration of local Hip Hop critics. In '08 expect nothing less than great things from Y-GEE, as the standard that he sets for him self far exceeds what others can impose.
